packing up the office over the weekend, and the movers
arrive at 8am. Office

help.

Hall.
Helping hands of all strengths
appreciated.

Hospital. We know many of you regularly run in
this race, and for that good reason won't be able to
attend the Consecration on the same day.

| CHILDREN'S ROLE IN CONSECRATION DEC. 1 |
| Saturday, Dec. 1 at 10:30am will be a wonderful
day for all ages, including youngsters! The
service will not be too long, and there will be much
movement, color and fun -- during the service itself!
Come at 10:15 and have your children stand with the
monitors at one of the Twelve Apostle Trees outside
in the Garth. As the Bishop passes among the
trees, each group will follow in joyfully behind
him, with fanfare, music (and other surprizes) till
we get to the Blessing of the Sunday School wing, when
children will return to be with their parents as we
follow the Bishop into the new church!
|
| FAMILY ADVENT WREATH LIGHTING ON SUNDAYS, AND
OBLATIONS |
| Each Sunday in Advent a family may come forward
and among them read the prayers about the meaning of the
Advent symbols for that Sunday, and light one of the
four Advent Candles in the Wreath. At the
Offertory, another family can help bring up the bread
and wine to the Altar. Please let us know if you
are interested in doing this.

| MECHANICS OF CHILDREN AND SUNDAY SCHOOL STARTING
DEC. 2 |
|
As you have heard by now, we begin a new Sunday
Schedule December 2. That schedule is listed in the next
article below. Here, I just want to outline what
will happen concerning the children and young people at
the end of the service, as they get ready to go to
Sunday School.
After everyone has had Holy Communion, then, as
now, we say the Prayer of Thanksgiving. At that
time all the children and teachers will join with me at
the front of the church, and we will say the Prayer
together. Following that, all these will exit the
church into the Gallery hallway through the door
immediately adjacent, and make their way, with waiting
teachers, to the Sunday School rooms. This gives
them a head start and about 10 more minutes for class
time. The rest of the congregation then sings the
recessional hymn and is dismissed, leaving from
the back of the church as usual.
I think you will be very pleased with the
accomdations and continued good programming for your
children. Do consider inviting others to come
with you to St. George's!
