YOUTH AND CHILDREN

Episcopal Youth Community – EYC provides a variety of programs for the Junior and Senior High youth. Ages 13-17 meet on Sunday nights, and engage in outreach services and fellowship activities. Contact: Elizabeth Whitlock at 754-7282 or youth@stgeorgesgermantown.org.

Episcopal Youth Council – This group of adults support the youth program. Contact: Sandra Thompson-Jaeger at 758-1049 or thomjaeg@midsouth.rr.com.

Children’s Sunday School – Each Sunday during the school year, the smaller children begin as one group with songs and prayer in the “tent,” and then separate into age groups for activities. The lessons are based on the lectionary readings for that day. Contact: Jen Matthews at 754-7282 or jmatthews @stgeorgesgermantown.org.

Children’s Chapel – This group provides the children, ages 3 to second grade, with an opportunity to worship in an age-appropriate way during the mid-morning worship service. The children follow the cross out of the church after the Gospel reading and return at the Peace. Contact: Cindy Eggleston at 754-3468 or ceggleston70@bellsouth.net.

Children's Choir – The Canterbury Choir includes boys and girls grade 3 through 12; The St. Cecilia Choir includes boys and girls, aged 4-6.

Vacation Bible School – This group of volunteers plans and implements VBS for one week in the summer. Contact: Jen Matthews at 754-7282 or jmatthews@stgeorgesgermantown.org.

Nursery – This group coordinates the nursery during the worship services each week. The nursery is open from 9:00 am to noon on Sundays. Contact: Kay Wadlington at 756-5182 or guswad@bellsouth.net.

St. George's Episcopal Preschool – SGEP is a licensed preschool accepting children ages 15 months to 5 years old. SGEP is open M-F 9:30 - 2:30, but most children attend MWF or TTH. In the toddler room ages 15 mos. and up the teacher/child ratio is 1:5, in the twos 1:5, in the threes 1:6, in the fours 1:8. Contact: Heather Crawford at 757-2675 or eccheather@aol.com.
