ST. GEORGE’S MISSION TRIP tentatively planned for the last week of June, 2008: To Centro Infantile, a ministry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, San Miguel de Allende, MX. Centro Infantile is a preschool program, in an informal partnership with our own St. George’s Episcopal Preschool. Centro Infantile is building a new building and we would help construct tables, benches and shelves and do some painting. St. George parishioner Jon (Cindy) Rindin (763-3531/ ) is chair.

SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE TOUR FOR ST. GEORGE’S, OCTOBER 28-NOV. 2.

This is an annual event for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, San Miguel (SMA). Groups from Episcopal Churches in the US come down to SMA and their payment for this wonderful event supports the outreach ministries of St. Paul’s, principally Feed the Hungry and El Centro Infantile. Parishioners can come down to see what other St. George parishioners have done already in initiating and sustaining these ministries. Six other parishioners have already been to San Miguel.

The trip will be led by Cindy and Fr. Gary Sturni, with an orientation before leaving. Cindy’s parents live in San Miguel and the Sturnis have travelled there almost every year for the last 30 years. Cindy is fluent in Spanish. St. George’s participants will stay in the very gracious homes of St. Paul parishioners. Cost and further information will be printed in next week’s TIP. This time spans the Hispanic Christian observance of Day of the Dead, an event to which, because of it’s roots in Mexico, anthropologists as well as the simple faithful come to observe with great devotion.
